Frequently asked questions about renting in Costa Rica
Do I need a 4x4 in Costa Rica?
It depends on your route, the season and planned access roads. Share your itinerary so a suitable category can be proposed.
Is my national driving licence valid in Costa Rica?
An original, valid and legible national licence is generally sufficient under the conditions communicated. It should normally have been held for at least one year.
How does the security deposit work?
The amount depends on the category and coverage. An accepted physical bank card is presented at pickup; no card number is requested on this website.
What is the difference between BASIC and FULL?
BASIC retains a deductible under the contract. FULL provides enhanced coverage and may waive the deductible for covered events. Contractual exclusions and amounts appear in the proposal.
Can I collect the vehicle at San José Airport?
Yes. Pickup can be arranged at SJO. Providing the flight number helps monitor a delayed or changed arrival.
Can I rent from Liberia Airport?
A request can be submitted for LIR, subject to availability and the conditions confirmed in the proposal.
When is the booking final?
After the proposal is accepted and the official confirmation with its booking number has been issued.
What if the quote does not suit me?
You can ask a question or request another solution without immediately closing your request.
